Hello COVID-19. Goodbye adventures. Or so you’d think…

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

If you love the great outdoors, you probably felt a little disheartened by the travel restrictions that Coronavirus brought us. Driving out to the countryside for a dose of greenery, fresh air and a sense of freedom can be a much needed weekend tonic.

Thankfully, we’re still able to exercise outside once a day. And, it turns out you probably just need to look a little close to home to find adventure and special spaces.

It’s easy to overlook what’s on your doorstep. I’ve lived in Brighton and Hove since 2007, and have been running, walking and cycling from the Poets Corner area for about seven years. But, since lockdown life began I’ve discovered pockets of green space, new footpaths, bridleways, valleys and views I never knew existed.

In this blog I’ll share the road biking, running, walking and mountain biking routes we find with social distancing in mind.

Enjoy, and stay safe.

P.S. Full disclosure - we’ve gone beyond Mr Gove’s one-hour guideline. Our mindset has been that 2 hours on quiet bridleways seems safer than a 30 minute run along a heaving Hove seafront.
